The largest marina in the downtown peninsula The Harborage at Ashley Marina is located at 33 Lockwood Dr along the Ashley River, this marina is one of (if not the) most sizable city marinas in Charleston SC where most of the largest yachts are kept. This marina has a very strong current because it’s on the Ashley River. Its largest appeal is the location of being right in downtown Charleston. The negatives are that there is a 55 ft fixed bridge, and a strong current. The marina was opened in 1986 and then rebuilt in 1989 after Hurricane Hugo and updated again in 2006 with new electricity, water, and decking. If you’d prefer to live in a community with a marina in Charleston SC there are quite a few condo developments. The timber frames and floats are from the 1989 rebuild. Rated 4 stars by ActiveCaptain this marina has a low water depth of approximately 15 ft depending on the location of the slip. Coming from offshore or the ICW, you must pass under the 56′ bridge in order to access the Ashley Marina. Amenities include 50 Amp Electricity & freshwater, Basic cable & Wi-Fi included in the HOA fee. The Marina charges a management fee is 50% for daily rentals, 25% for weekly & monthly rentals, and 10% for quarterly or longer. Contact the marina dockmaster for more information on rentals or general information pertaining to the association regime at (843) 300-5682. The fuel provider is AMH marina services. All other transient & long term rentals are through the owners association.
